Steps 3 and 4: Approve and send

Send podcast pitches from your own email

PodPitch sends every podcast pitch from your own email address, so hosts hear from you and reply to you.

Once PodPitch has matched a show and written the pitch, it is ready to send. You approve each pitch, or let PodPitch run on autopilot. Either way, the pitch leaves from your own email, and any reply from the host lands in your inbox like any other message.

Quick answers

Sending podcast pitches: common questions

Why send from my own email?

Hosts book people, not platforms. A pitch from your own address is a message from you, and the reply comes straight back to you.

Will anything send before I approve it?

Not unless you turn on autopilot. In approval mode, each pitch waits for you.

Where do I handle replies?

In your own inbox. Replies to your pitches arrive there like any other email.

Can I switch between approval and autopilot?

You choose how PodPitch runs: approve each pitch, or let it run on autopilot. Pick whichever matches how hands on you want to be.

Why your own inbox matters

A pitch is the start of a conversation. When it comes from your own email, the host sees your name, writes back to you and keeps talking to you while you agree on a date and a topic.

You also keep a full record of every pitch in your own sent folder and every reply in your own inbox. Nothing about your bookings is hidden in another tool. PodPitch does the matching and writing, and then steps aside.

Helping your pitches reach the inbox

Any email you send, pitch or not, is more likely to be delivered when your domain is set up properly and your messages are wanted by the people receiving them. Google publishes clear email sender guidelines (opens in a new tab) that are worth reading if you send from a company domain.

Pitching shows that match your topic, with a personal message to each host, also helps: the host is far more likely to want an email that is clearly meant for them.
